Adding Columns to Site, but there's 2 issues
-
Hello! I’m still working out my website, and I’ve decided that I want to have the social media accounts on each side of the main page. However, I’m having 2 issues at the moment…
1) Twitter, the embeded column is so long… how can I maybe shorten the length? (Besides CSS, because i dont have a premium plan, nor do i really know CSS)
2) Instagram, when I try to add the URL to embed this one, it doesn’t work. It just changes the block type from Instagram to Paragraph, and then just lists the URL as text… is it something I’m doing wrong? Or is that particular block perhaps malfunctioning? I’ve tried deleting and re-adding blocks but that doesn’t solve it.Thanks!

Hi there!
I had a look at your site, but I don’t see any page or post (including drafts) that would contain those embeds. Am I checking the correct site? If so, could you add a draft page with those embeds and share a link in your reply? We’ll be happy to have a look and advise.

Yes, I took them down in the meantime, but I’ll make a draft right now and attach it.. Thanks!

Ok, if you go to my site now you’ll see a “test page” in my drafts that is unpiblished. Scroll down to the column below the header photo and you should see the 2 issues.
1) Twitter (on the left column) is just too long, how can I shorten it?
2) Instagram automatically changes from “instagram” to a “paragraph” block and just lists the URL… i think something is broken there…Thanks!

1. This is controlled by Twitter, so we don’t have a way to shorten it.
2. The Instagram Block is intended for embedding a single Instagram photo or video, not your whole feed. For that, use the Latest Instagram Posts Block: https://wordpress.com/support/instagram/#latest-instagram-posts-block
