Adding comment count to timeline formats

  Hi!

  I have an active following and one recent request from my readers is to add comment counts to all of the posts visible in my timeline, which you can see here: http://exploratorius.us/ This is so they can easily see which posts have recent comments that they haven’t yet seen.

  I’m using Avid as my theme, and it supports comment counts in the timeline only for Standard Format posts — not for Image, Gallery, Video, Quote, or Link posts. For the unsupported posts, the comment count is replaced by an arrow.

  Can that be changed?

  No, it can’t be changed. Alternative post formats have no link to the comment section, and CSS cannot create links.
