Adding contact info
-
Hi there,
Apologies right off the bat if this is a stupid question. I’m new to this.
If I add text that reads something like “click here to contact me”…can I somehow link to and email address without the sender actually being able to see that email address? -
No. That’s not what you want to do.
You want to set up a new static page with “Contact” on it and use the contact form as explained in the FAQ. That way, people can contact you via your email without actually seeing your email. That’s the only way we have to do this.
NOTE that if you reply to them, it’ll come from your email and unless you’ve set up an anonymizer it’ll show where it came from. You might want to set up a special email just for the blog.

I don’t know about all themes, but Mistylook actually has a “contact” page type you can use that has the code built into it. You can add a message in the edit box, and then when you save it, it adds the contact stuff under your message.

Do you have to know how to use CSS code to use the info in Mistylook to create a contact page in Andreas 9? Please advise. Thank you!

Please see raincoaster’s post above https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=15758&page&replies=7#post-116086
This will work on any theme and there’s no css coding involved at all.
Dashboard -> Write -> Page
Now type [contact-form] and publish the page. http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/05/13/how-do-i-make-a-contact-form/ -
Just one additional note clarifying use of the contact form. If you want the form to appear on a page then do not type anything other than [contact form] on the page.
-> Write -> Page
Now type [contact form] on the page and nothing else and then publish the page. -
Just a little mystified by that last piece of advice, timethief. I’ve managed to get the contact form, text, hyperlinks and a picture onto a page on my blog, here:

Maybe that facility is theme dependent – but it works on cutline, no problem. HTH.

I could be wrong but I do believe the appearance of the form on some themes does not happen when there is any other text typed aside from [contact form]. And, if I’m worng then staff can chime in and say so. :)
It’s easy enough to test on any theme. If typing anything more than [contact form] does not result in the appearance of the form on the page then one can simply remove the other text and publish the page again.

Note that there must be a dash between the two words ,strong> [contact-form] but I couldn’t edit earlier today or just now to correct that omission above.

@energetic
And now I can’t edit out the ,strong above either so here we go again:Note that there must be a dash between the two words [contact-form] .

I’m very new at this, but I am typing [contact-form] into a new page, publishing it, and it is coming up blank. http://winehousesf.wordpress.com/contact-wine-house-sf/
Any advice? I much appreciate anything.

The good news is that that is exactly the way the contact form is supposed to look

All your readers need to do is type into the box and click “submit”. However, you ought to edit the page and find the blue buttons on far the right hand side beyond the editors box. Find the blue button that says “Discussion” click it and and uncheck “allow comments” because you already have a comment box.P.S. You may wish to try writing a message to your readers above the [contact-form] telling them how to use it. In some themes this works very well.
Best wishes :)

(1) Good news! I see your message above the contact form and all is well.
(2) I don’t know who “Ben” is or why he is being thanked. Maybe you have confused someone else with me. If so then know that I’m a woman. ;)Happy blogging!
