Adding content

As I am near to publishing my site I want to check something. (Learning WP has been a big learning curve for me & I note there’s a bit of adapting needs to happen to have a site rather than a blog).
I have articles that remain on the static pages & have added there links to other info & related articles. However, as I add new content, presumably now (& I’ve done this to check it out) I write posts tagged with categories that are showing up in the categories box at the side?
And should I be setting those new posts to go to a ‘news’ page?Or is there a better or different way of adding new content & cataloguing it for people to find?

Hi there. It’s up to you whether you want them on a “news” page or on several category pages. The first option is obviously the easiest.
Create a new page, title it “News” and publish it without adding any content. Then go to Settings ->Reading and select that page as your posts page. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
If you want separate pages for each category, then you can create category pages using a custom menu. More at these links:
