adding content to pages

I’m relatively new to wordpress’s way of doing things and so have some questions about how to add content to new pages. My blog’s address is http://curtiscunninghamphotistry.wordpress.com/ so you can see what I’m talking about.

I can add a page (i.e. Workshops) and I’ve put some temporary content in that parent page. But what I’m having trouble figuring out how to do is to add more content to that specific page. All I seem to be able to do is to add child pages (i.e. EXTRA WORKSHOPS and FUTURE WORKSHOPS–temp titles for temporary purposes) that only are visible if people scroll down the page to see their titles under WORKSHOPS on the right hand side of the page at the bottom.

What I want to do is add more posts to my original WORKSHOP page, rather add child pages if that makes any sense.

Or do I have to just add text at the top of my parent WORKSHOP page directing people where to go to view more pages that I decide to add later.

The main blog page is the only one that will automatically update when new posts are added. Pages that you create are typically used for static content (that seldom changes) and will not operate like a blog page.

    A Post and a Page

Thesacredpath is correct, but you can probably make it appear as though you are adding a “post” to your Workshops page by simply editing the page by adding content. You could write a new “post” at the bottom of the page, perhaps indenting it or using different headers, colors, or images to make the addition feel more like a post.

You can simply edit the page to add the changes. That’s what I do on my blog course page.
