adding custom fonts to blog?

  Hi there

  I am in the middle of switching my blog template to the Penscratch theme. I’m going to upload a new header picture and would like to use a matching font for my post titles and widget headings. I’ve found the font I like from a designer. Is it possible to purchase a font elsewhere and install it in my Appearance customiser for use in blog posts?

  In some themes we can suppress the display of site title text on the Dashboard > Appearance > Header page.

  Header Text
  __Show header text with your image.

  If you created a custom image header and included the site title and tagline in it, in the font of your choice, and then suppress the text display provided by the theme this may resolve your issue.

  oh thanks time thief!

  do you have any tips on how I get my custom font into the header text editor in the first place? if I understand you correctly, I could therefore set the header text to my custom font then just hide the text display. This would then also apply to all my post and widget headings.

  Would be great if this worked!

  At this time, the only fonts available to us here at WordPress.com are the Typekit fonts listed at Appearance > Customizer > Fonts. We cannot upload or user our own fonts from outside sources or web font servers.

  Exactly what is the URL starting with http:// of your blog?

  If it is a WordPress.COM hosted blog then have you purchased the required upgrade for that blog?
