Adding Custom .html Page to WordPress Site
-
Hi,
Couldn’t seem to find an answer to the following question online…
I would like to switch my company’s website to a wordpress site.
But I need to keep one custom page on the root folder because this url is printed on stickers as QR code and distributed to clients for the past year.
Something like http://www.mycompanysite.com/recycle.html. recycle.html must be in the root folder. I cannot put it on http://www.mycompanysite.com/special/recycle.html.
recycle.html is a very simple webpage that redirects to a google form.
My understanding from my hosting company is that if I switch to a wordpress website, my root folder will be “taken over” by wordpress, so the files on the root folder will be deleted and replaced with wordpress files.
I cannot test this out because my company website is live.
Thanks for reading and any help on this issue.

Hi there,
This is not possible on WordPress.com, period.
It might be possible on a site using the open source version of WordPress at another hosting provider, but the folks in the WordPress.org forums would be better able to answer that for you:
