Adding custom text (or block or widget) to the homepage with blog list

    Hello! I ready searched a lot but request the assistance from community. The page link is attached. The point is:

    Theme called “PressBook Masonry Blogs” but I suppose it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t allow any customization to homepage or top widget (only sides).

    I need at least to make simple text block (welcome text) and picture at the top of blog preview. I cannot find any possibility to do it with standard tools. I cannot find the possibility even to make it with plugins.

    1. I don’t want to make additional static page with text + blog block there
    2. I can go theme file editor to edit – PressBook Masonry Blogs: Main Index Template (index.php) but I don’t know how to write it properly.
    3. I tried before to google everything. Found one recommendation: Install a plugin such as “Widget Options” or “Widget Visibility”. I installed Widget options but didn’t find nothing to help me.
