Adding "diaries"

  I’m having a bit of a problem here. I typically run political blogs,and there’s a feature a few of the bigger blogs use where people can subscribe and set up “diaries”. These are essentially internal mini-blogs, but occasionally a post can be “promoted” to front page status where it becomes one of the big stories for the day.

  I’ve been trying to figure out how to add this on to a new blog I’m building. Anyone have any suggestions? Or is WordPress not capable of supporting this feature?
