Adding “Digg It, StumbleUpon It, del.icio.us it” links to each post
-
Is it possible to add “Digg It, StumbleUpon It, del.icio.us it” submission links to the bottom of each post?
This site is a good example of what I’m asking: http://www.consumeblog.com
Thanks!

yes, currently it’s possible for “Digg” only; please do search a FAQ blog on how to.
as for any other social service, .com users have to go through a tedious procedure adding links to those sites manually to the end of every post they want them to have such linking buttons.
-
I use the method below. It’s quick and easy. No need for “find and replace”, etc.
-
It’s possible for almost all of them..not just digg..as abbydonkrafts said. search the faq and you’ll also get more info that you need in previous threads. i’ve done the pick ‘n choose thing and I have digg, del.icio.us and reddit but you can have pretty much all of them if you want.

@abbydonkrafts – can’t seem to download that zip file on the site you link to. Have I missed a step along the way?
-
Thanks! This totally worked! I don’t use the wordpress software so I don’t think the plugin is gonna help me. Otherwise, grabbing the code and doing a little copy & paste and a couple of find & replaces… it’s not THAT tedious… ;)
@lettershometoyou – Yeah, I had problems with that link too.

Here’s the reference to sunburntkamel’s the copy and paste version of
social networking bookmarks
Alternatively, here’s the code for the AddThis button<!-- AddThis Bookmark Button BEGIN --> <img src="http://s3.addthis.com/button2-bm.png" width="160" height="24" border="0" alt="AddThis Social Bookmark Button" /> <!-- AddThis Bookmark Button END --> -

I have been using the AddThis button on every post I publish for months. It’s not javascript. See the code above.

Really? I must be doing something wrong then. I just pasted it into the end of my last post and the image shows up but it doesn’t function. Here’s the link: http://saucygrrl.wordpress.com/2007/08/08/puppydom-month-one/

When using the text rich editor you have to switch from “visual” to “code” in order to paste in the code and have it display as an image. Try the code below and see icon #17 http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/
<a href="http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php" title="Bookmark using any bookmark manager!" target="_blank"><img src="http://s3.addthis.com/button1-bm.gif" width="125" height="16" border="0" alt="AddThis Social Bookmark Button" /></a> -
Although I truly appreciate the additional tutorial I’ve always used the code section, I don’t like working in the visual mode.
So even though I pasted the code into the coding window, it still doesn’t function. :(

Wait!
Woo hoo! That last bit of code worked! Weird. I don’t know why it didn’t work before…

this is not exactly one yet.
yes, there’s a link-button to AddThis 3rd-party service, but it’s absolutely useless — it doesn’t contain a post permalink!
should any visitor to bookmark that post hitting this button they’d have to return back to the post, copy permalink, then go back to AddThis, paste permalink, check needed soc. bookmarking service and so on.
without a permalink it’s just a misleading useless thingy.

Try this:

-
Yes. You have to add it manually to every post unless you only want people to go to your main blog page.
