Hi there,
Please share the domain name. And I’ve added a modlook tag for Staff assistance to check on your purchase.

Hi @pahadiaatma,
Some domain providers allow for “domain forwarding” or “domain masking” with the idea of allowing the domain to be used to load a site with another provider. At WordPress.com this is not something we support, instead, a plan is required to map a domain.
You can first choose a plan at https://wordpress.com/plans then follow this guide to map your domain:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/If you’re still having trouble please provide a site URL or WordPress.com username as
reginaballysuggested. I can verify the account you are posting as has no WordPress.com updates. -
Hi there,
Forwarding your domain to us from another provider does not connect the domain to your WordPress.com site, and it also does not change your WordPress.com Plan. The only way to change your WordPress.com Plan is to go to My Site ->Plans and buy a plan.
To have your domain show your WordPress.com site you then have to add the domain mapping upgrade. One domain mapping is included for free in your plan:

The donain name purchased from Godaddy is Himalayansou.in
I dont understand if i have external host or domain name why cant i change my name? Means the money i have spent on buying domain name is waste? -
-
If you want to connect that domain to a site hosted on WordPress.com, you also need to purchase a plan from us. We charge a fee for that service, and the payment you made to GoDaddy for the domain does not also pay for the service we provide.
-
Yes, you can use a domain you already own by using our domain mapping upgrade. See the link I gave in my first reply above.

Hi pahadiaatma –
The first thing you’ll need to do is to add a paid plan to your account. To do that, go to https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and make your selection. Each plan and the features it offers are outlined on that page.
Once the plan has been paid for and is active on the account you can connect the domain.
To do that, you’ll be using domain mapping. Just click on My Sites – Domains – Add – Map it
This process will point your domain to WordPress.com. The full detailed instructions can be found on this page:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/The last step is to go to your domain provider and ask them to update the name servers so that the domain will point to WordPress.com. That’s step 2 in those mapping instructions linked above.
