Adding email from external provider

  Have been unsuccessfully trying to add email hosted with another provider and would appreciate any help.

  I contacted the provider and was told: “Your Mail A Record previously was pointed [DNS redacted]. What you need to do is contact Word Press and get them to point the mail record to [that DNS].”

  Following the WP instructions (or so I thought!) I’ve gone into Edit DNS in My Domains and added a new ‘A’ record in the format name.url.com, then pointed it to that DNS. But having waited 24 hours nothing has changed and clearly I’ve done something wrong.

  If someone can assist, that would be great. I’ve got a forward in place to cover that address for now so it’s not urgent but I’d like to get it sorted soon as it’s a business address.
