adding email link in my text widget is coming up with page not found

  Hi there
  I’ve just started up a new blog for a local community group. I want to add a “Email us!” link to make it easy for people to contact us. The email is an address solely for this group so I’m not too concerned with spammers getting hold of it through picking it up.
  I followed the advice on this page: http://support.wordpress.com/links/email-links/ and typed in the stuff (sorry for my non-technical language *redfaced* ) as per the instructions (ie Email me! ) but altered it wtih the address I wanted to use.

  Having done it and saved it, I tried clicking on the link created, but instead of coming up with an email to be composed, it gave me the message that the page can’t be found.

  Can anyone help me wiht what I should have there to make it a clickable link or tell me where I am going wrong? Really appreciate any help. Thank you.

  Oh gosh!! I feel really silly….. I overtyped the mailto part that I pasted…. so sorry to trouble you all.
