Adding email to wordpress site
-
Hi – I want to add an email address to a wordpress site I have recently set up. Looking through past questions it says go to my domains and click edit. But when I go to my domain I don’t have an edit option? I have a premium wordpress domain so I should be able to set up account? Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thank you
Katarina

Go to
https://robertawadsworth.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=grofiles-user-settings
and add the email -
Ok sorry I am a little new to this – how do I then forward this on to another email account? The email isn’t yet set up so I want it to be forwarded onto a gmail account.
Hope that makes sense… -
I don’t understand you.
What do you want? Change the email for https://robertawadsworth.wordpress.com/ or what? -
Hi – sorry if I was unclear.. I want to set up a new email address, for example: (email visible only to moderators and staff) and forward that to an existing gmail account. Is that possible?
Many thanks for your help

It looks like you’re switching between accounts and that’s causing the trouble here.
The username infoginos owns a custom domain, but the username robertawadsworth does not.
If you’re logged in as infoginos and visit here:
https://wordpress.com/my-domains
You’ll be able to click “edit” next to the domain name ginos.ky and set up email forwarding for “(email visible only to moderators and staff)” following these instructions:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/
But while you’re logged in as robertawadsworth, you have no custom domains setup, so you don’t see that option.
You do have the Premium plan though, so can register a domain name for free here:
Then you’ll be able to setup email forwarding for that domain.

Hi Alex – many thanks for getting back to me so quickly and apologies for the confusion, I am a little new to this.
I have now logged in as robertawadsworth on http://robertawadsworth.wordpress.com/ and looking under ‘my domains’ settings I can’t see where I can’t create an email forwarding (as per wordpress instructions https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/) This is a premium domain so it should work?
Thanks for your help.Katarina

Hi Katarina,
robertawadsworth.wordpress.com has a Premium plan, but does not have a custom domain yet.
To set up email forwarding, you’ll need to register the custom domain first. Here is where you can register the domain:
Since you have the Premium plan, you will not be charged further for registering a domain.
Once you’ve registered that domain, follow the steps for email forwarding.
