Adding files to my blog for readers to download
-
I run a coaching website and I use a software package to diagram plays/drills. My readers would like me to post the files so they can import them into their version of the software. The files are .dde extensions for a tool called DrilDraw. I tried adding them to a post and I get an error that I can’t upload that type of file. I tried making them .zip files but that throws up the same error. Is there any way that I can do this?

We can only allow a certain set of file types for security reasons.
For the .zip files, make sure that you’re actually compressing them as .zip files and not just re-naming the file to .zip.

I am using jzip to create a .zip file and I just tried it again and am still getting the same error message. “This file type is not allowed. Please try another.”
Any idea?

Oh, you’ll need a Space Upgrade to unlock the ability to upload .zip files: http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/extra-storage/
Sorry for not noticing that sooner!
