adding flickr video – not working
-
Hello, I’m new at WordPress, and so far I like what I see. I want to add a movie through my flickr site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/77minuets/3774026166/
I saw the tutorials as to how to go about it, however when I try doing it, I don’t get the same results. I start by going to the “Add Video” button at the top menu of the post, then I select, ” From URL” tab and then insert the link (copy/paste), but it doesn’t appear in my post, after selecting “Insert into Post”. Is there something more I should be doing? What am I doing wrong?
Thank you

Is this the blog you are talking about http://pberra.wordpress.com/ ? If so, please always provide a link to the blog when asking a question in the forums since we typically have to look at the blog in order to help.
See this support document on how to insert flickr videos into your blog: http://support.wordpress.com/videos/flickr-video/ .
One note I’ll add is to actually put the code into the HTML tab. That works far more consistently than putting it into the visual editor.

Sorry I didn’t provide the link to my blog site. Yes it is http://pberra.wordpress.com. I did follow the instructions from the video, however it still shows up as a blank. I tried several ways of pasting the code. The first was simply copy and paste the link as seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/77minuets/3774026166/ didn’t work, then I did the same thing by adding: flickr video=http://www.flickr.com/photos/77minuets/3774026166/ (flckr video @ the start of the address ) and that didn’t work either.
I’ll try the html and see what comes of it.
Thank you for your time.

You do need to follow those specific instructions. You need the square brackets, as outlined in the link tsp gave you. Read those instructions carefully.

Thank you! I added the code in the html and it worked like a charm, I pasted the address in the html as follows: [flickr video=http://www.flickr.com/photos/77minuets/3774026166/]
Thanks again!

you are right, I saw that after the [ ] brackets are essential. It’s all in the details. I’m starting to get the hang of it now.
