Adding Follow Blog Button in a post or on a page
-
Hi
I would like to add a button on a page and in a post that allows visitors to follow my blog but can’t for the life of me work out how to do it.
I would like to name the button ‘Follow Our News’.
The theme I use is SeIa.
Any help gratefully received :)
Thanks in advance.
Tracy

Hi,
I checked your blog http://nantwichfabricsale.com/ and it has a button to ‘Follow Our News” and it works fine.
Do read this helpful guide about “Follow Blog Widget”: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/

Hi yoga1103
Many thanks for your reply.
I am happy with the widgets but want to put a Follow Blog button in a post and a page and I can’t do this with a widget.
Any ideas?

Hi Tracy you can use the subscription shortcode in a page or post:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscription-shortcode/
Let me know how it goes.

Hi Kathryn
I followed the instructions and pasted it into a page but only the copied code showed.
Not sure what I did wrong!

Oops sorry. I have tried it on different pages and on a post but then deleted the copied text as there wasn’t any form when published.

I have followed the instructions in this link but all that happens is the code pasted shows on the page or post.
Any ideas gratefully received :)

Just had a thought, the instructions say to paste the code into the ‘Visual tab’. Pasted into the ‘Text’ tab and it seemed to work! So not sure the instructions are correct.

Glad you’re set. The subscription shortcode should work when added either in the Visual or Text tab.
Again, if you could provide a link to the page or post where you’ve added it, I’d be glad to take a look. I spot-checked a number of your pages but I’m not finding it quickly. Thanks.
