Adding Followers

  A number of people have contacted me to say they are unable to follow the blog despite registering their email addresses on the site. I have tried to follow the blog with a new email address to see and I have experienced the same problem.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Good Morning – WordPress.com users are able to follow your blog when they click on the ‘follow…’ link in the bottom right corner of your page. Install The Follow Blog Widget to allow people without a WordPress.com user account to sign up and follow your blog via email.

  You can also invite people to follow your blog if you know their email address: https://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/

  Hi, thanks for your message. I have done both things and the problem persists. Even people I have invited personally are unable to connect to the blog.

  When they get try and o activate their follow subscription via emai, they receive a message saying ‘your subcription could not be activated, or it may have expired’.

  You followers can check here https://subscribe.wordpress.com/ to see if your blog is listed as a blog they follow.

  Hi there,

  I’ve just tried following your site as a WordPress.com user and as a non-WordPress.com user and it worked both times.

  The error message you saw – “Your subscription could not be activated, it may have expired.” – can happen when a user is signed into a WordPress.com account in their web browser that doesn’t match the email address they’re trying to verify. Try following your blog again with a new email address but sign out of WordPress.com with your web browser before you click the confirmation link.
