Adding Google Voice Widget
-
Hi. I didn’t see anything relevant to what I’d like to do, so I’d like someone’s help. I have a Google Voice account and would like to put the Google Voice CallButton widget on my blog so that people can click to call me. I tried the Text widget box and it shows the URL under the Title. When clicking the URL, it opens a new page with the Google Voice widget on it. Once there, people can click the widget and enter their Name/Number. I would like this to appear on my sidebar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here’s the link code:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="https://clients4.google.com/voice/embed/webCallButton" width="230" height="85"><param name="movie" value="https://clients4.google.com/voice/embed/webCallButton" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="FlashVars" value="id=3780df51882b872832d8185d1e79d47b42dfa804&style=0" /></object>The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t post Flash widget codes here for security reasons. You may be able to get a gigya code though and if so it will work. The gigya shortcode 3 – inserting Flash

Also note no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM

Thank you, timethief, for your quick reply. I’m not any kind of programmer nor do I know anything about link codes and such. Short of paying for the WP blog service that will allow me to add Flash codes, I’ll probably just leave it like it is as I have no idea how to convert the above into a short code that will work.
Again, thank you for your help.

There is no such upgrade. The post I linked to explains free of any charge how to transform Flash into a gigya shortcode which can then be displyed on your blog.

Okay. I thought I read that this was an upgrade option if the service was subscribed to. I also found a WP Plug-In that would allow Flash, but not paying for it.

I have provided the only solution for free hosted WordPress.com blogs. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

If you wish to have complete control over a blog, the ability to upload themes and plugins, and to edit themes and templates then your option is to hire a web host and get a free software install from WordPress.ORG and self host it.
