Adding Gravatar picture to blog header

I had my Gravatar picture in my blog header. I then changed the theme and it’s gone. Is it the choice of theme that it no longer displays or just that my middle-aged brain can’t remember how to add the Gravatar to the header again?
I went to the Twenty Seventeen theme and couldn’t find the previous theme to be able to say what is was.
Help?

Since I don’t know what the previous design was, I don’t really know exactly how you are wanting it to look. Whatever design you used before may have had the option to use your avatar in the header, but it doesn’t appear Twenty Seventeen does.
The closest thing you can do is under the theme customizer page, on “Site Identity”, you can make the logo whatever your Gravatar image is, and then it it will appear right next to the site title.

The previous theme on laurenswartzmiller.wordpress.com was Independent Publisher. If you switch back, I would recommend trying out Independent Publisher 2, its spiffier cousin.

I looked at Independent Publisher 2 and it’s too clean looking in the header section.
I liked the header picture associated with my previous theme which, curiously, was only similar to the header picture associated with that listed for Independent Publisher. My tired mind remembers a similar (not same) image with colors other than shades of brown.
However, my playing with the theme suggests a desire for change, so I will keep looking.

May go with this suggestion if I find another theme I prefer that doesn’t allow for the Gravatar in the header.
