Adding Home page to display latest blog post
-
Hi there,
As you will see from the blog, I’ve created a menu from the dashboard (Appearance/Menus/Categories). This is good, since, every time I create a new post and select the relevant category, I want those to appear on the Horizontal bar. This is my problem
1) How can I add a ‘Home’ Page so that I can return to the ‘home page’ At the moment, there’s no way I can do that
2) How can I remove the lines ‘ category archives XXXX’Many thanks,
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. On the custom menu page if you click on the “view all” tab in the pages module you will see a home page link which you can then add to your menu.
2. Are you talking about on the categories pages themselves? If so, that would require some CSS editing experience and the CSS upgrade. Before buying the upgrade, you can go to appearance > edit CSS and wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try out changes before you buy the upgrade.

Your blog doesn’t have any title, which is also used as a link back to the front page of your blog. By not having a title, you are also hurting yourself as far as people finding your site via search engines. Some themes here have the option to remove the site title but still have it appear in the page title. Twenty Ten is not one of them. Here’s a list you can check out for a better visitor experience. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/header-images/
You can remove the category you don’t want to appear in the navbar by removing it from the Custom Menu.

Hi both,
Many thanks for your help
1) DONE
2) If you access the blog, please click at the 2 different titles Meanwhile, in Africa, and the 2nd one. Just underneath that, you will see this:
a) category archives: Meanwhile, In Africa
b) category archives: MENA popular uprisingsIt is those 2 lines I would like to remove.
Does that make it any clearer?
Many thanks again

Hi there,
Thanks… I already have the CSS upgrade, however, haven’t exactly got my head round the code I need to insert/modify so that those lines disappear. Is this something you can tell me?
Thanks again,

I’m sorry but the only Volunteer who helps with CSS does not appear to be logged in and posting to the forum at this time. Please be patient while waiting for his help.

It will take time and in between you are expected to search forum threads and determine if the same questions have been asked and answered previously, and equip yourself with the appropriate tools. Take advantage of your browser’s developer tools. Under Firefox, install Firebug. For Internet Explorer, install the Developer Toolbar. :)

This will get rid of the page title on category pages.
.category .page-title { display: none; } -
