adding html banner to post
-
Hello, I am trying to insert an HTML affiliate banner into the body of my post
for some reason it is not as easy as simply copy/paste like i can do with notepad
where is this basic fucntionality?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
You should be able to add any HTML into an HTML block as seen here: https://wordpress.com/support/?s=html%20block
I hope this helps.

thanks for the reply
I have exhausted all options, I have used the custom html block, an image block pointing to the url, the actual image gif, I have inserted the code dierectly into the page using the code editor
the tags I am using are indeed supported unless there is something I am missing
here is the code:
I can copy paste this into notepad, save as html, and magic
if I use the code editor, or the custom html, it justs displays the code
I am not interested in using widgets,I want to design an affiliate page with banners, links, and relative content

Hello there,
Many thanks for that extra information.
That code is indeed valid, and I’ve been able to add to an a page called Affiliates without a hitch.
(It looks like there was similar recent work in there).
I can actually see the ad banner when saved.
Can I ask you to check if you’re seeing the same please?
Many thanks.

I can post the image apart from the code no problem, but when I actually paste the code , all i get is the code displayed
any actual link works fine, but without an image
nothing I have tried so far has successfully displayed an image
