adding html file
-
I’ve got an html file that is an interactive story that I want to add to my site.
If I try to drag and drop like a media file, it says unsupported format.
If I open in DW and just copy-paste the code into the html tab, it does not work.I didn’t write the code, one of my contributors did, but I can confirm that the code works. I have the html file on my desktop and I can open it in chrome and it functions perfectly as an interactive story.
There must be way to do this, right? Why am I having trouble? Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

So, assuming the original code has tags that aren’t accepted, what are my options for getting it to my wordpress? Will I have to host it somewhere else and post a link?

Hi there,
These restrictions exist to prevent sites from being infected with malware. WordPress.com is a shared hosting platform, so if one user manages to add malicious code to their site, it can end up bringing down thousands of sites belonging to other users. That would be really bad UX.
We do support Codepen embeds, so perhaps you can add you HTML to a new pen there and embed that to your site.
Otherwise, you can cancel your plan for a refund on the Purchases page:
https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/
However, your domain is already beyond the refund period so the domain portion of your plan can’t be refunded. I’d also advise that you don’t cancel your domain. If you cancel the domain now, it won’t be released again until after it expires a year from now, so you won’t be able to use it until then.
If you want to use the domain with a different hosting provider, you can do so even while it’s registered here. You can find instructions how to do that here:
