adding html links – amazon associate

  I am having a little trouble with this. I go on my associate account in amazon and highlight and copy the html. Then I ‘paste’ it into the html layout of the new page I created on my blog. I ‘update’ the page then test view it.

  All I get in the ‘Visual’ side of things is something like this:

  Have you found a solution?

  It looks like you are trying to add an Amazon widget, correct? The Amazon widget code will not work on a WordPress.com hosted blog.

  Yeah, that’s what I am trying to do….just be an ‘affiliate’. I have an affiliate ID and yes, it’s my blog, not just a storefront. I just wanted to insert banner code into my html. I intend to monetize my blog with the ‘Business’ plan in the future and sell stuff via my Paypal account from my blog though.

  Didn’t really find my answer….hmmm. But, on my site, when I click on the link, it shows the banner in a window by itself though.

  If you want to use Amazon widget code, then you would want to use WordPress.org. This code is not allowed on WordPress.COM sites, so it will not work no mater where in the site you add it.

  ah….so I would have to change to .org then?

  And, now I know to add the Paypal plug-in I want, it’s .org too.

  But I can add Ecwid, Shopify or Gumroad to wordpress.com.

  Hmmm….

  Forgive me, I’m fairly new at this.

  Can you add Paypal in any way if you upgrade to Business? I know you can add audio to a .com site if you upgrade to Business.

  I have the same problem with the Booking.com widget. I’m trying to paste the html but it doesn’t work…

  What’s happening? Is it not possible to use banner and affiliates in free blog like WordPress.com?
