Adding HTML to a text/HTML Widget

I don’t know exactly what HTML is if I can’t copy/paste the website I want on to it? I have a link, it works everywhere but I can’t get it to be a link on here…someone help please

Hi there! Do you mean you need to create a link in a Text Widget? If so, here’s how:
<a href="URL FOR WHERE THE LINK SHOULD GO WHEN CLICKED HERE">Text for link that will appear on your site goes here.</a>Edit the above HTML to include your link and link text, then paste it into the Text Widget and Save.

I’m sorry its still not exactly what I was thinking? It makes a link but when I click on it – it doesn’t go to that site, it stays in wordpress? I’m missing something…
