Adding Image to Customized Header

  • Unknown's avatar

I want to add an image that is already uploaded to be my header image. I had uploaded this image in a blog post previously. Now, when I try to either re-upload or browse for the image, nothing is “clickable.” I am on a Mac, I don’t know if that makes a difference.
The image I want to use is http://novip.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/viplot.jpg, and I want it in the header. (After this is accomplished, can I then add text over it or not?

    Much appreciate any assistance!

You will have to upload it again by going to ADMIN => PRESENTATION => Header Image (or whatever it is). In your theme you can choose the header image using the ‘change header image’ and then upload it there. That should get it working!

    Hi, thanks for responding,

    when I go to http://novip.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header

there are buttons to “choose image,” and a button to “upload file,” but the “choose image” button is totally un-clickable. I thought this might have something to do with being on a mac, and maybe feature is designed for pc’s?

Also, why is my avatar so big compared to yours, for example?

    Thanks, Laura

Choose image button is unclickable eh….must be Safari giving you trouble. I know you usually have to click it a few times (same as gmail). If you can’t get it working, as a workaround, try a different browser as well. Maybe Firefox if nothing more as a backup when things don’t work correctly with Safari (like the visual editor not working).

The first post of a thread uses the large avatar and then all go to the small one!

    Hi,
I got the file to upload using Internet Explorer, but all that shows now it s big black box.

    Help!

I see the black as well. I would try downloading the file again from your post above (viplot.jpg) and upload it again . It should ask you to crop it to size….maybe clear your cache and try it again. It should work.

Well, when it asks me to crop it to size, nothing happens… I mean there is no way to do it, when I click and drag… nothing, so I have just then been clicking on the “crop image button” without cropping the image.

This post talks about seeing exactly what you are seeing and it was said by the staff that they were having trouble with the image cropper. Maybe send in a feedback and see if the staff can help out on this one.
