  I want to know how to add images to my page. Also can I add images in the menu area?

  There is nothing wrong with your site. By default, the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post, not a page the front page error message and search box that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

  There is no free way to do that. maybe you can use CSS editing provided you have the required upgrade.
