Thank you.

Hi,
(b) how can I add an image (of a map, from my desk top) to my ‘Studio Location’ page?
First, login to your Dashboard at https://moichabrahams.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Then, go to Pages > All Pages and you should see all your pages. There should be a ‘Gallery’ page and a ‘Studio Location’ page.
Hover over the title of the ‘Studio Location’ page and click Edit. This should bring up the page editor. Click the Visual tab if you want to edit visually instead of by code. Click the Add Media button to add your image. Once you are done editing, click the Update button.
Here are some step by step instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/uploading-images/(a) I can add more images to my ‘Gallery’ page (I was shown how in July but have forgotten)
Same steps as above except open the ‘Gallery’ page this time.
Then follow these steps to edit the gallery:

Hi Honeysilvas,
Thank you for your help yesterday…got halfway there and am now stuck. I have uploaded several new images to the ‘Gallery’ page but they have not ‘integrated’ correctly with the images already there. That is I have about 16 images in default view at the top…then the 14 new ones are visible below the others but separately, in ‘rectangular’ type view, and different sizes. How do I integrate them into the body of the Gallery with the other images, above? (afterwards I will reorder which position they are in). I am sure it is only a matter of clicking the right button…but I just can’t seem to find out where that is! Can you please help. Thank you Martin -
Hi,
Edit this page http://moichabrahams.wordpress.com/gallery/ by going to Pages > All Pages, hover over Gallery then click Edit.
This should open the page editor. Click the Visual tab to make sure you are in the visual mode of the editor.
Click the Gallery then click the Edit Gallery icon. It should open up an editing screen where you can add your images. You can also reorder images by dragging and dropping them.
You can see the step-by-step instructions with screenshots here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#editing-a-gallery-or-slideshowHope that helps!

Thanks , I understand that process but something else seems to have happened NB I don’t think you understood my dilemma. As I said/wrote: earlier, I uploaded several (14) new images to the ‘Gallery’ page but they have NOT ‘integrated’ correctly with the images already there. They are visible if you scroll down (in some modes) ie I have about originally 16 images in (I think) default view at the top…then the 14 new ones are visible below the others but separately, in different format, ie in ‘rectangular’ type view, and all different sizes. Can you see them? Maybe I did something wrong in the upload/add image process? The problem is now ..can I integrate them into the body of the Gallery with the other images, in the same format, as above? Or do I have to delete them all and start again? I really feel stuck! Can you please help. Thank you Martin

Hi,
Yes, I can see that the format of the new photos is different from the photos before.
Can you go to your page editor, click the Text tab, then copy and paste the code that is there here? You can use the code buttons in this form to display the code properly.

Hi,
the code I see is below…where do I paste it to? Need some more steps please.

Hi,
OK, so I see the code. Instead of editing the Gallery, you had added images at the end instead. What you need to do instead is edit the Gallery that is already there.
Go to your page editor. Click the Visual tab to make sure you are in the visual mode of the editor.
First, remove all the new images that you have added that are not formatted correctly. Click the Update button then check out the page in a new browser to make sure it had reverted to how it looked before.
*** This is the part you need to pay attention to. ***
Back in your page editor, in the Visual tab, click the gallery image.
(I think before on this part, you might have clicked the Add Media button instead. You don’t want to click the Add Media button. You want to click the old pictures that you have.)Two icons will appear, a pencil icon (Edit Gallery icon) and an x icon.
Click the pencil icon (Edit Gallery). It should open up an editing screen where you can add your images (in this screen, you should see the old images in the gallery). Click the link at the left-hand side that says Add to Gallery.
Check this page out so you can see the screenshots of what it is supposed to look like:

Hi Honeysilvas.
Well ,I spent quite a bit of time learning about your last instructions and practicing adding images to my gallery page and then re-ordering them.(via the drop in method)..to get roughly how I’d like them to look. I thank you for all that.
However, I came across a worrying hiccup. When I sign out and then view my gallery page , as if I am a visitor….there is the facility to enlarge the thumbnails and click a [next] button. But when I do this strange unwanted things happen…eg a detail of ‘Creature Dreaming’ shows up which isn’t in my selection, and worse, the order which I had worked so hard to achieve , as described above, just doesn’t happen, and images seem to come up in totally unplanned ways. ie the [next} button system just isn’t working! So, how can I align the results of the [next] button system with the order I have chosen (via the ‘drop in’ process) ?? Can you help me resolve this ? Again thank you for your help so far.
-
The page looks fantastic!
Go to Edit Gallery again and make sure Random Order is not checked.
If that doesn’t fix it, can you post the code here again?
-
Thank you for the compliment. I checkedabout Random Order..and under Gallery Setup Random Order is definitely NOT checked. Yet the [next] tabs unfortunately still produce Random Order images??? and other things. eg from the ‘Creature Dreaming’ image , when I click [next], a DETAIL of ‘Creature Dreaming’ (foot) appears which isn’t in my selection. What can I do to correct this fault please?
Also, what do you mean “post the code here again”? Do you mean repost so for all the FORUM to see? I will do that anyway…but hoping to hear from you again.
-
Hi,
By post code here again, I meant, can you go to your page editor, click the Text tab, then copy and paste the code that is there here? Just like you did before.
You can use the code buttons in this form to display the code properly.
-
Here is the code:
…………………………………
[gallery columns="4" ids="35,120,118,162,48,44,45,43,47,108,142,42,39,40,41,46,123,158,159,117,124,125,127,126,116,165,37,121,161,105,122,119,49"][youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jlUEr7SzM0?rel=0%5D
-
PS I don’t know what you mean by:
“You can use the code buttons in this form to display the code properly.”
-
A bit of the code was omitted: can you see it this time…after all the numbers…it was:
………………………………………………………[gallery columns="4" ids="35,120,118,162,48,44,45,43,47,108,142,42,39,40,41,46,123,158,159,117,124,125,127,126,116,165,37,121,161,105,122,119,49"]
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jlUEr7SzM0?rel=0%5D
-
still seems to be omitted….I’ll write it with hyphens around each character…to see if it is visible then:
-&-n-b-s-p-;- repeated twice.Did you see it this time? -
-
The code button I was talking about is on top of the box where you type in your response (where it says strong em link quote etc). To make a code display correctly here, you need to highlight your code then click the code button and it will appear:
Like thisBut it’s alright, you don’t have to do that because I can see your code and I actually have been able to replicate it in my test site and saw the same issue.
I will flag this for staff right now because they might be able to see something I am not. Just be patient as you wait. Thanks!
-
Thank you honeysilvas. I am looking forward to the ‘staff’ analysis of the problem…hope they can crack it!
In the meanwhile and separately from that I still do not understand what you wrote:
“The code button I was talking about is on top of the box where you type in your response (where it says strong em link quote etc). (I see them of course) To make a code display correctly here, you need to highlight your code??? then click the code button and it will appear” But thankfully, you said I don’t have to do this…etc as said earlier, I am not very technical!
-
Don’t worry about this now, since we don’t need it anymore. But if in the future, you need to post some code here in the forums, here’s how to do it.
You know the box where you type in your response on this page whenever you reply back to me? On the left-hand side, it says:
Allowed markup: a blockquote code em strong ul ol li.
You can also put code in between backtick ( ` ) characters. On top of the box, it has a link that says Check Spelling, then underneath that, there are 9 gray buttons. One of those buttons says “code”.
If you want to copy and paste code here in the forums, for it to display properly, you need to highlight the code, then click the “code” button. This will preserve the formatting of the code for you.
Alternatively, you can also use a backtick (not to be confused with an apostrophe).
But, anyway, you don’t have to worry about that ’cause I understood the code that you posted.
Good luck!
