Adding images to posts with Elementor

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I have just started and it will not let me add images to new posts, I can select the image but it will not update. Any suggestions?

Hi there, are you using Elementor on a Business WordPress.com plan, or is your site self hosted?
Adding images in your posts with Elementor you should edit the post with Elementor. In the Elementor editor, you should drag the image widget into your post and select an image in the sidebar under the “Content” Tab.
This will open up the media library and you can choose your image from there. Update/Publish your changes will appear in your post.😎

Hi there, thanks for this, and it is a personal plan. I’ve followed the steps but when I upload an image, it processes but says the image is too large. What is the maximum image size and is there a particular format images need to be in? I am trying to use photos taken from my iPhone and they are not working.

Hi, jpeg and png formats will be just fine. I don’t think Elementor has a size limit.
The default format iPhones save images to is HEIC, try saving it as a jpeg on your computer and upload it into your library first. and then import it via Elementor.😎

I have converted the image to JPEG and it is 2.4mb, but when I add it as a ‘feature image’ to the post it says
‘Post-processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.’
Any suggestions? I have tried an image from Google images and that works, just not my ones.

Yeah, that would work getting the maximum pixels down to about 2000.
To scale the image, go to your backend via “wp-admin” you can find it on the bottom left menu.
Go to your media library, select the image you would like to scale and click on “Edit Image” you will find the scaling options top right. Change the largest number to 2500 or 2000 pixels.

Please note that for some reason the save button is not active to click on, The workaround for this is to flip the image (options on the top of the image) and flip it back again, you will now be able to save the image. Click “Save” and your image will be scaled.

Click on “My Sites” left top to navigate back to the normal backend.

You could always just upload your featured images to the required size in the future.

    I hope this will help.😎
