Adding link to another page within a page

So I’m very new to this, and I learned that the only purpose of the parent-child relationship is to show up in the sidebar, however I would like it if I clicked on a Tab on my parent page and was able to click through to multiple child pages (without going through the Pages WIdget/Sidebar). I was reading other forums that said in order to do this I have to put the permalink to my child page into the parent page, but when I copy and paste the link it doesn’t really do anything. I imagine it has something to do with coding, but I don’t understand….Please help!

    Thanks!

Please give the URL of your blog when you ask a question here (or link your nickname to your blog as explained in the Sticky “8 Things to Know”).

Link has to be like that (in the html page editor):

    `VISIBLE_TEXT_HERE

In the visual editor, you write whatever phrase you want to have as a link, highlight it, then click the link button and paste the URL there.

Sorry, for the html instruction I forgot to add the proper display code:

    <a href="URL_OF_PAGE_HERE">VISIBLE_TEXT_HERE</a>
