adding link to custom social buttons

  I have a set of beautiful custom social media buttons and have used them for twitter etc. I also have one for WordPress – does anyone know the link that would need to be attached to the image for it to work?

  That’s not quite the answer I need

  I know how to add them and how to add the URL, but I don’t know what the link should be for the wordpress one, if that makes sense?

  e.g.

  for my twitter button I have the http://www.twitter.com/teachaholic blog link, linked up to it.

  What should be the link for the WordPress one?

  Hmm, maybe I’m being thick or not explaining properly!

  Basically, at the moment I have the WordPress.com external follow button (https://developer.wordpress.com/docs/follow-button-creation/) on my blog, however I want it to be the picture of the custom ones that I’ve brought, but I don’t know what the link is to sent it to the page where people follow…..

  I think it’s me not making much sense, sorry!!!

  Ahhh, ok.
  That button (https://developer.wordpress.com/docs/follow-button-creation/) is for sites that supports JavaScript embeds to add the Follow button. It’s not for your WordPress.com blog.

  See here:

  While there are several ways visitors to your site can follow your WordPress.com blog, you also have the ability to create a Follow Blog button that can be added to external websites.

  my blog is a self hosted site and that’s the button I was using before…. so my site does support it….

  I want a follow me on wordpress button, that is the same as my others (which I have) but I don’t know what the URL link should be… just putting http://www.diaryofateachaholic.com in the URL box brings me back to my blog.

  I’m using a plug in (easy social icons) to get them on my site…

  If you need assistance with your self hosted site, I’m afraid you are in the wrong forum:
  This forum is only for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.com (like yours http://diaryofateachaholic.com/).

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  And for your self hosted site you should ask in the WordPress.org forum.
