adding link urls

I need to add urls to different product categories to direct people to that particular website . I’ve clicked on link , added url, saved , but it doesn’t work

Are you referring to the above site addictedtonatural.wordpress.com? Have you followed this guide? https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/image-links/ If so and you are still unable to add a link to your image, please walk us through the exact steps you are taking to add an URL to an image.

It’s not an image I’m trying to link . On my home page I have categories Natural Skin Care, Mineral Makeup and Essential Oils . I’m trying to click on each category and it takes you to my affiliate site . I’m trying to add each independent URL to each category . I did it before but something happened and now I can’t remember how to do it .

Do you mean the affiliate links at the bottom of your site’s front page or adding custom links to other sites in the menu bar?

Custom links to other sites Inn the menu bar . The affiliate links at bottom of about page match the sites in the menu bar . Example :

Is the webpage for natural skincare in my menu bar .

I want viewers to be able to click on the site on menu bar and it takes them to that webpage .
I had it set up before and than I ruined it somehow because I’m not very good with setting up websites . Also when I click on Natural Skincare the About shows up underneath that . I’m trying to get rid of that . I don’t really know the difference between Menu and pages . Maybe I picked the wrong Theme setup . Thank you for taking the time to respond to me , I really appreciate this . -
You’re welcome. You just need to create custom links for each of those in the Menu in the Customizer following the guide I linked to earlier https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
You can also remove the About page there as well, since it is set as your site’s front page.

Yay I did it , thanks to you . I had to pick a new theme cause my other theme was retired . One more question . How do I add images to the main page ? The theme gave me like a bunch of image spots but I don’t see the squares to load image . I’m trying to put them on my main page . Also this theme only has a drop down for categories and than you see them . Is there any way I can list them at the top like I had before . Natural Skincare , Essential Oils, Mineral Makeup . Where you can see the actual name of category instead of clicking on =

You can add images by editing your About page, then inserting images following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/
If you mean the Header image at the top of the site, you can change it in the Customizer>Header Image
I’m not quite sure I understand what you mean about drop-down for categories. I’m not seeing that in your navbar in my browser window.
Ah, wait, do you mean on a mobile device like a tablet or phone? If so, that is the default method for displaying the site menu on devices with smaller screens.
