Adding Links or Pages to the menu
-
add menu items in the column on the left <<< While this text still appears inside the configuration area, I am unable to to add any menu items on any of my blogs. The column on the left appeared in the past, but it no longer appears and I am not able to add links. Now, my link to my ABOUT page is gone, and there is no possibility to put it back. I even changed themes and reinstalled the them hoping this would at least bring back that link… I am so frustrated. There is no information about this anywhere on the web, and all your help links continue to discuss the way to add links or customize menus, and no mention of this ability being removed.
What’s up?? Please help…

erm.. I have to go to SCREEN OPTIONS each time and select the areas I want to appear on the screen. Wow.. it used to always just be there, but now I have to select it each time. I don’t mind at all, just didn’t know!!
Problem solved. sigh.

Hi Aponi,
Each time you add a module in Screen Options, it should then always be there on that same screen, or that type of screen. For example, if you enable ‘Discussion’ on the post edit screen, it should then always appear on any post edit screen.
That said, I don’t think you should have to use Screen Options for a menu action at all. What area are you enabling in Screen Options for this?
You can control your menu here:
https://equinequickresponse.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.phpAnd it looks like you have ‘Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu’ selected, so each time you add a new page, it should be added to your menu automatically.
You can read more about Custom Menu options here:
