Adding links to category pages on a main page

    Hi,
I’d like to know how to add links to category pages onto a main page.
For example, I want to add add images for the categories ‘2018 Reviews’ and ‘Other Posts’ onto my Archive page, which will direct the viewer onto a new page where all posts under ‘2018 Reviews’ and ‘Other Posts’ will be displayed.

If this isn’t possible, I’d like to know how to display subcategories on the main category page.
For example, I have the categories ‘2018 Reviews’ and ‘Other Posts’ under the ‘Archive’ category. So when a viewer clicks on the Archive tab on my main menu I’d like the subcategories to be displayed on that page. Not just a drop down menu from Archive showing subcategories when the viewer hovers over it.

    Thank you x

Hi there, you can add category pages to your site via a custom menu.

However, it’s not possible to automatically redirect viewers to another page from category pages. They’ll only see the posts that were assigned to that category.

I see that you are using a Gallery on your Archives page to link to those categories. The Gallery might not be the best solution in this case. You can insert each of those images individually and then link the image directly to the mentioned category page.

You might be able to do what you want by creating a static page using either the Archives shortcode or the Display Posts shortcode and then add those pages to your Custom Menu instead of the category pages, but it is more complicated to set up.

Let us know if you have any other question about this.
