Adding links to yet unpublished posts

  • Unknown's avatar

I feel silly to not being able to resolve the problem myself and hope for a knowledgeable sould out there kind enough to help me.

It’s easy peasy to link to already published posts. But how do I add hyperlinks to yet unpublished posts?
    Is it even possible?

Or do I have to publish them and then edit to add the links?

This would be pretty inconvenient as I’m writing about 20-25 related posts which I’d like to hyperlink before releasing them.

The workaround I was hopig for (releasing posts privately, then edit and add links, then change visibility to public) doesn’t seem to work.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi,
One can add links to unpublished posts in exactly the same way that one adds them to published posts. Why is it easy peasy in one case and not the other? See the Links support page.

Every post URL will contain the datestamp reflecting the exact date the post was published on.

    @ reepratiom, @ timethief,
Sorry. I evidently misread the OP. Thought it referred to adding links within the content of a post or page, which can be accomplished in the same manner regardless of the status of the post or page.

    Howdy, timethief!

Yes that’s true. I was pointing out that and one can setup a timetable of dates for publication of any series of posts with the same title in parts, as they will know exactly what the URLs will be in advance.

    Example:
    My Blogging Series Part I
    My Blogging Series Part 2
    My Blogging Series Part 3
