Adding 'log in' to header

    How do you add the ‘log in’ in to the header (just like on the wordpress site).

    Is this controlled by the Theme? I looked at many of the available themes and I couldn’t find any that had the ‘log in’ box within the header. As of now my ‘log in’ is buried at the bottom of the page in a footer. I know I can add the ‘site options’ to a side bar but I really want the ‘log in’ at the top. I have a single column site so I don’t want anything in the sidebars.

    This site also has the ‘log in’ as part of the header. How would you implement something like this?

    There is no login box for the header on any theme here. There are a couple themes that have a header widget area you could put the meta widget into although I don’t right off hand remember which themes those are.

    You could add a login link to your top navigation if you wished by utilizing a custom menu and custom link.

    http://dev.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ is a self-hosted wordpress installation and that is a high end premium theme aimed at CMS sites that they are using and is not available here.

    Thanks for the reply. My site is self-hosted and is actually more of a CMS than typical blog. I’m not opposed to paying for a Theme that meets my needs.

    Do you (or anyone else) know of any themes available for purchase that has the “log in” integrated in to the header.

    I’ll take a look at Themes with header widgets but I don’t want all of the ‘site options’ – just the ‘log in’. Is there a widget available that is just the ‘log in’?

    I’m not familiar with the custom menu & custom link but I’ll do some research…
