adding many images to a post, but only displaying the first image on the blog

  Is there any way to add a new post with many images, but only have 1 image on the main page of the blog to select and bring to a sub page with all the images?. i.e. I would like folks to click on the first images which will open another page where they can see all the images, just not on the MAIN landing page. Does that make sense? is this possible?
