adding media

    I am so frustrated by changes to the WordPress site! (insert scream here) I made a page using the Kelly format a few years ago–works great, really easy. Then I made a new Kelly page this year, and it works TOTALLY DIFFERENTLY. Everything I do with the old one takes MULTIPLE STEPS on the new one, and it doesn’t do it the same way.

    Right now, I’m trying to create a link with a media file.
    -I put the file (a Word doc) in my media folder.
    -I went to the page I wanted it on, highlighted the words I wanted to hyperlink to the media file, clicked ‘add media’, chose the file I wanted, chose ‘open in new tab’…..all of which works on the old Kelly site I made….and NOTHING HAPPENS. When I update my page and try to click on the link, I get an ‘Oops! That page can’t be found’ message….even though I did EXACTLY what I’ve been doing for YEARS on the other Kelly site, and it works perfectly on that one.

    I’m wondering :
    1. How do I make that Word doc hyperlink to my page?
    2. Why, for the love of all things holy, is it different now? And HARDER? Any time I want to do nearly anything I have to post a question in the forum and the answer back is always multiple steps and super NOT intuitive. I can’t understand why it was changed :(
