Adding Media (Images, YouTube, etc.)

    Hello. I’ve been running this blog for 2 years but have never opted to add images and media to my pieces. I would like to do so now but want to ask about legal procedures. Are we allowed to use Google Images and/or You Tube for free? What credit must be given, etc? I don’t want to post something that would be forced to be taken down…

    Hi there,

    I am not able to give you any real guidelines on what you should and should not display that belongs to other people as that quickly becomes a question of legality, which I am not qualified to comment on.

    There are quite a few resources online which can give you information about the public domain and what is and is not included in it, including images hosted on Google Images and YouTube. You may want to do a quick search and some review before posting!
