Adding media to a wordpress website
-
I have added media to our website and linked it to some text within a page of the website. But when you click on the link, it opens a seperate page within the website to then follow the link as opposed to opening the link directly from the original text. How do i fix this?

Can you give us the link of a page you are having this problem with? Also mention what link gives this problem.

Please help me to understand your problem:
Have you uploaded a video file?
Do you need it to be played when a user clicks on a link?If yes, it is not enough to show the link to the file, as there must be a video player which plays the video. You can do that by creating a separate page with Video block, then the link from your text shall be linked to that new page with Video editor.
If there is something else, please give us more info so we could help you out.
In any case, we would be happy to hear from you. -
There is a link on the home page that reads
“Our COVID-19 AstraZeneca consent form can be accessed here.” — clicking on the word here will demonstrate what I mean by taking to a separate page before opening the link. Also could someone please help with why changes made to the website are not instant? any changes made take a while to come into effect once logged out of the admin role.
Thankyou in advance!

Clicking the link on “here” takes users to a page that allows them to make a comment? Which I am not sure how to fix
But they can then click on the link the the media from there.
Hope this makes sense -
Hi again,
Please use this link to open that PDF file on clicking the original text link: http://budgewoimedicalpractice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/covid-19-vaccination-consent-form-for-covid-19-vaccination-covid-19-vaccination-consent-form_0.pdf
That should solve the issue, to open the PDF from the first hit.But I have to mention that this forum is dedicated to WordPress.com users who have hosted their websites on WordPress.com, while your website is using open source WordPress.org software and is hosted on Google as I can see here.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers of WordPress.com. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ or here https://wpisnotwp.com/.If you have more questions about self hosted http://budgewoimedicalpractice.com.au/, you can ask the WordPress.org community for advice or look for solutions on existing forum threads: https://wordpress.org/support/forums.
