Adding Meida

Ok. So I have been adding media for some time on WordPress. But recently I am unable to add pictures or videos. It allows me to brows but when the window that should be where to place the picture or size is a blank screen. Also the Video info I put into the html go in but when you go to visual show it is just a blank pink block. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing is working. Any thoughts. P.S. It will allow me to add a photo from media library but not from my pictures that I have used from the beginning.

And you have both cleared cache and cookies, then restarted your browser, and logged in again? Just restarting won’t usually resolve browser cache/cookie issues.

Does that mean you can upload new images to the media library not attached to a post? The pink block is especially odd.What browsers, (and add-ons to the browsers?) and operating systems are you using?
I’m out of ideas, but we can hope some one will come along with a simple answer. In the meantime, contact support for help. Give details—the more the better.

That’s OK I will keep messing with it. Thank you for your help. I will try a different browser and erase cookies. I have never come across something like this though. Thank you for your help. P.S. I am using Enternet explorer.

I’m on a Mac and the last IE version I used was 5 point something. Don’t know if that (IE.#??) is part of the problem or not. The pink is something I’ve never encountered. Keep checking here. Someone will likely know. And a word to support would not hurt. We are mostly volunteers here in the forums…

Internet Explorer is not one of the browsers WP recommends. IE 6, in particular, is obsolete: even the official Microsoft IE page recommends abandoning it.

I am having the exact same problem on both Opera and Firefox. I can upload from Library but not from hard drive. Uploading from hard drive sticks the image in Library but not in the post. Instead I get a blank window with nothing inserted.

Go to post, click on add an image, image window comes up, From Computer, browse to the file on the computer (using browser uploader), click upload, fails. But it puts the file in the gallery/library and then you can go add it from there. But it does stick a stupid break tag at the start of the post.

That is exactly what is going on with me. Does anyone have any problem with videos too. I tried using firefox also, it still didn’t work.

The same is happening to me. Here’s the workaround:
Upload the image. When the screen goes dark, click the X to close the pop-up. Click the Image uploader to open it again, go to the Media LIbrary, where your picture will be uploaded as the last one. Add your links, etc, and hit Insert into Post.
Ugly, but it works.

Have you reported it to staff via the Contact Support button? I suggest you do that. They’re the only ones who can fix it.

Read the above; there’s a workaround a few posts above here that will allow you to upload anyway and put things in your blog.

Scroll up in this thread and read the workaround I posted earlier. And report it to staff, as I suggested a couple of posts above.
