Adding Menu Item

  can anyone help me remember how to add a menu item – say in F8 theme?

  I see my existing menu items and can delete them under the appearance heading but I can’t seem to find out how to add one.

  i think i create a page first and then link the menuitem to a page but i can’t find a way to do either of these.
