Adding menu options

  Hello, I’m using the Hemingway Rewritten theme. I’m a newbie. I can not figure out how to Put menu options on the horizontal bar under the main picture. They keep showing up as sidebar menu’s/options. I’d like to have a few links horizontally. It seems more pleasing to the eye/easy to navigate. I hope I’m describing it visually in case my terminology is off.

  Additionally… On my actual page there I have About Me and Contact on that menu, but not sure how I did it and am not able to do it again.

  I think what you want is custom menus. Give the instructions at http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ at try. That should do the trick.
