adding meta tags for better search engine activity

How do I go about adding Meta tags to my blog? I found a tag generator so i have the stuff to put in but I just can’t seem to get it right.

We cannot add meta keywords tags here, and they are for the most part dead and buried and according to this article, there is only one web-based search engine that still pays any attention to them at all and it isn’t any of the well know search engines: http://searchenginewatch.com/2165061
My suggestion is to use appropriate tags and categories on your posts and don’t use too many of them. Search engines are very suspicious of too many tags. Also, WordPress has put a limit on the total number of tags + categories you can use of about 12 and still be included in the wordpress.com global tags pages. Example: 2 categories and 10 tags = 12 total or 4 categories and 8 tags = 12 total.
