adding metadata?

is there a way to add metadata to a wordpress.com hosted sites? Trying to figure out a way that photos/cartoons could get tracked in search engines. Tried adding metadata to the html post, but it disappears when I publish. Thoughts?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t add metadata here, and Google has stated that the only metadata they even look at in passing is meta description.
As long as you include title and alt text when you insert images, the search engines will pick them up and they will show up in image searches. Without alt text though, they will not.

Use the filename, caption, description AND alt text to put your keyword descriptors in and you should find that search engines will find your images. Google image searches favour WP images, in part because the additional caption code allows WP bloggers one more place to put keywords in.
