I’m trying to add a mixpod player to my blog…The website is…musiklounge.wordpress.com…Ive tried posting the player thru the text widget and all I get is the html code…I see plenty of other people with wordpress.com blogs w/ mixpod players on them…Do I need to get that css thing? or could it be the theme I’m using…ANY help is appreciated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oooh i came here to ask the same thing what a coincidence..I have only just started my blog and i have a mixpod account..it gives the code to add it to WordPress, but i too am at a loss as to what to do with the code. Please don’t mention css as i haven’t got a clue about such things!! I need the easy option if there is one please..Thank you

I’m also using mixpod player on my blog.
refer to this to see how to put it on your blog:

You can see a mixpod player on my blog (left sidebar, bottom), although I reduced the size to a button haha.

Thanks for the help..unfortunately i tried it and all that i got was a link to add songs rather than my actual player I want the actual player just like i have it on Myspace. Would it be possible to have the player in a post and have the post as sticky?? Or will it not work in a post either?…Thanks

Scrap what i said above. I will leave it as it is now because if people want to click on it at least it takes them to my player…Thanks for the help.

There are a couple of things you need to do if you want your player to appear in your post since you cannot ‘just’ copy the code and paste it in your post.

    1. Create your playlist as you would normally do at mixpod
    2. Save your playlist and press the get code button
    3. next, choose the corresponding site where you want the code for, WordPress is under OTHER SITES
    4. a message will ask you to log in to your wordpress account, fill in, click POST
    5. a new post has been published in your blog with the player in it, you can then either do the following:
    – edit the player in HTML
    – copy the code and post it in a textwidget in the side bar
    – make the post sticky (change VISIBILITY in your PUBLISH window on the right when editing a post)

Now you whenever you want to change your tracklist, you just edit songs at mixpod and it will update itself in your blog post.

Ahhh that’s where i went wrong..i didn’t want to post it direct to WordPress as i have to put in my log in name and password..You are very good with the advice thanks very much..i will try again..fingers crossed…

You are a wonder…it works!!! Only problem is that the player extends outside the page a bit..i’m sure there is a way to change that but i will just get a smaller player!!! Thank you for all your help and i hope the person who started this question has solved his problem too

Ofcourse you can copy the code from the post mixpod created and delete the post and paste the code in for example a text widget in the sidebar.

Yea it also depends on what kind of player you picked when creating the playlist, there are smaller sized players en bigger sized ones.

But you can edit the size of the player shown, you have to change the HTML code, look for this in de code: style=”visibility:visible; [gigya width=”X” height=”X”
where X is the value you choose yourself, please note that each player has minimum dimensions, if you enter a value lower than the minimum dimensions of the player it will just ‘cut’ off a part, for some it works, I had it ‘cut off the whole bar that displays the name of the song en reduced it to a single button only.

Also, look for this code: autoplay=true
    and change it into: autoplay=false
People hate it when they visit a page and some music starts playing automatically.

And lastly, you can delete anything that is not needed in de code, such as links, extra mixpod.com buttons etc. (unless you don’t mind ofcourse)

I copied the code from the post and added it to a text widget..i can’t be dealing with changing the size of the player though using the code. I’m not very technical minded so i just opted for a smaller player and redid the whole process..it’s easy when you know how haha,,Thank you very much for your help

No thanks, glad I could be of help.

Ps. I’m also not so technical minded, you’re probably more technical than I am :)

Ok I must be crazy…I’ve followed the directions to the T, and all I get is the HTML code…What am I doing wrong?…Could It be the theme I use?

I get the procedure but when I try to login to WordPress and post the code, my login info fails and it tells me to create a blog. I know my login info is correct. Any suggestions?

I apologize for the duplicate comment above. I don’t know how it happened. My computer lost internet connectivity about an hour ago and it was just restored.
