Hi. In the visual editor (what you call the WYSIWYG editor), if you only have one row of icons, make sure you open the second row in order to change the font color, size, etc. (#15 in the example below):

I just saw your duplicate topic… In response to your other question regarding autosave, I’m sorry to say there is no way to turn off autosave:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/autosave/So, in a nutshell, for your two issues, you might benefit from using an offline editor (like Windows Live Writer).

Hi airodyssey,
Yes, I have the second row of the editor activated; but the editor fails to offer enough buttons- to control the document. Though these are included in my Word editor, I should not have to add extra work to my writing by (more) Copy/Paste. I feel the tools I need should be available in WordPress.com’s editor.Regarding Autosave: not me; I never posted a queston on the issue; I love autosave, it is helpful.
Thanks guy.

Sorry, perhaps I misunderstood your other topic

until there is a button: you can increase text size simply in the HTML code by adding the “big” tags.
<big> text </big>
<big><big> really big text here </big></big>very small fonts can be done with the “small” tag or multiple “small” tags, However not every wordpress theme supports it.
` <small> text here </small> -
Thanks guys.
airodyssey you were are on target; I’ll have to eat crow, and add more copy paste. Oh well.
Again, many thanks guys.

I also have a lot of problems getting the page to look how I want it to look too. Especially if you have photos as well. You can spend an age getting photos and text placed how you want it to look and as soon as you press the update button it all jumps all over the place. I dont know how to get it to stay where I put it when published.

@aamiene
The wordpress.com blog linked to your username is empty. If you are referring to another wordprss.com blog then see here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-alignment/ -
It is frustrating is it not, when the writer cannot control the display-in my case how the text appears.
The suggestion was made to try an outside editor. Well, and I realize the advice is well-meant, but because of previous attempts, I knew that using outside editors are useless; after dumping the works into WordPress.coms’ editor, the editor reformats the work.
What is the point?
I am a serious writer; I need more control of the page.

I’m so sorry but blog editors are not word processors or typewriters. This editor is the Tiny MCE editor by moxiecode and all wordpress blogs are equipped with it. The only alternative you have is to use an offline blog editor to publish your posts to your blog. If you have a PC then windowslivewriter id free. If you have a Mac you can use Ecto which is modestly priced at $20.

Writing and web design are two different things.
WordPress.com is optimized for writing. It is the opposite of optimized for control of the visuals of the blog.
