Adding more widget options to the sidebar with Custom Design

With Custom Design can I add more widgets to the sidebar than is currently allowed in the theme I have chosen?

There is no limit to the number of widgets you can place in your sidebar aside from common sense. The longer your sidebar becomes the longer it takes the blog to load for your visitors and many will click out if it takes more than 3 – 4 seconds to load. You will find all the widgets here > Appearance > Widgets and when you choose the
