adding music

I am aware of the space upgrade and inserting music files directly into my blog. What I specifically want to do is create links that play music. For example, I want to write about songs in my posts and create a link, so that if you click on the phrase the song plays:

    I love the song ”

      Stairway to Heaven

“. If you click on the song name, “Stairway to Heaven” will play.

Is there any way to do this?

So you want to link to a different site where the music will play or your want the music to play on your site?

If the latter, then you should only use embeds. Just creating a link to a music file may cause unexpected behavior, such as making the music download to your visitor’s computer and opening there. If you don’t own the rights to that music (“Stairway to Heaven” for example), you should not do so.

Here are the current audio options: http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/

You are correct. I want it to play directly on my site. I have read the forum you sent me the link to. But in all those options, it seems that a little “media player” graphic is embedded into the site too. I wanted to know if there was a way to make it really clean- just a highlighted word within the text that you click on and music plays. If a little player popped up after you clicked on the word(s), that would be OK.

The available audio choices are what are listed on the page. No pop-ups mentioned because they are not available.
