Adding Music to blog

I’ve been trying to add some MP3’s to my posts, and I tryed using Odeo, but they have a really crappy selection of music, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any other way or site that you can use to add Music to your posts.

You can sign up at Odeo and download your own mp3 then use the player code (for wordpress.com user) and attached the file on you posts but if you do not like Odeo, you can only put a link of that mp3 files somewhere but you can’t play it automatically in your wp blog.
If you search the tags on this forum, you can find the music codes for Odeo or YouTube players exclusively for WP.com user.

Im not sure how to use Odeo. I signed up on it, but im not sure how to download my own mp3, and I dont know what you meant about the player code. Sorry :)

The odeo site doesnt have any of the songs that I want, and I might be totally missing the point of the site but I cant figure it out. I search for the songs but none of them come up. I thought what you meant earlier was that if you signed up with odeo, you could upload your own music from your computer onto a playlist on there, and then use it from there. Is it possible to add music on odeo that you have on your computer, and then link it to your blog using [odeo=_________]???? Thank you so much for your time -
Yes you can download your mp3 file to Odeo. I did that for several times. However, I am not sure if they have a storage limit so I stop using Odeo because I didn’t like the “big-fat-pink-player”.
Then just follow the instructions for Odeo player (the link I gave you) and that’s it.

So you know how to use Odeo quite well??, How do you upload songs onto it, I cant figure out how to use it… Thanks:)

Go to http://studio.odeo.com then log-in. When you’re logged-in, there’s “My Audio” on the right sidebar where you can find, Save, Record, Upload or Link to Audio. That’s it.

Alright I got there, and now I only have the option of Recording or Linking audio. I wanted to know if its possible to upload from my own personal library on my computer.

There’s an Upload option http://studio.odeo.com/upload
“Upload Audio from Your Computer. Already have recording software or your own tracks? Upload the MP3s to put them in a podcast.”
So that pretty much explains. Try it.

Oh i see. Sorry that was so confusing to both of us. It seems that Odeo has stopped providing that service to new users. http://odeo.helpspothosting.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=73 It turns out that this whole time I was searching for something that wasnt there anymore. My Odeo Studio only had the options to Record and Link audio. Sorry, let me know if you have any other ideas on how to get music on my blog. Its too bad we went through all that for nothing. Thank you though so much for all that. :)

Really? So now we can only use links for the mp3 podcast available in Odeo. That’s too bad. I am now using multiply account (www.multiply.com) for my mp3 uploads although I can only use links for the mp3 (you can’t play it within your wp.com) at least I can still listen to it (and share it with friends). Go try it.

Feedback sent to staff with the link above pointing out that Odeo isn’t allowing new users to upload anymore. (Well that sucks)

If you registered earlier, upload still works. But yeah, it’s annoying they won’t let you upload if you’re new. Not everyone wants to record live to podcast!

So, you will never be able to upload over there, or do you have to wait until your account is not relatively new anymore?

I read somewhere recently in an unrelated thread that there was no longer a wait at odeo.

I’ve been trying to get Odeo to work for more than a week now, and failing every damn time. It used to work just fine.
There’s something wrong on their end that is failing to add audio to podcasts, failing to upload audio, giving random error messages, all kinds of things. I sure hope they fix it, but it’s too late for my Christmas podcasts.
PS, just went back and checked ones that were working before, and formerly functional podcasts are kaput. I hope this clears up soon.

Actually I read this elsewhere but revealing exactly where would be telling, wouldn’t it? ;)
P.S. You may be interested to learn or even *lol* at the fact that I just read the whole widget section in the FAqs (i.e. the one I didn’t know was there). Rats! now I can no longer send people to my own blog post. :( You’re too damn efficient and dedicated – go have a holiday.
